Isn't it kind of funny how this whole incident that is occurring now is a direct result of the bloodletting during the Iran - Iraq war?

"Direct result"? True, no society can fight a major war for eight years and lose hundreds of thousands of young men without being profoundly affected by it, but I don't really see how the current upheaval in Iran is a direct result of the Iran-Iraq War.

Well, if the war never had happened or hadn't been as bad would all the middle aged people have affected what the young people are doing now.
