Multiplying the average posts per day so far by 31 days is nearly 87,000 posts. Could be possible to blow away 2016's record Curly

It remains to be seen if he's really going to keep going at this same pace after the election is over.

It's only Oct. 25th, so we still have 6 days to go before the month is over, and yet this month already has more posts than any previous month in forum history.  Previous record was Oct. 2016, which had 66,370 posts, but we're already over 70,000 for this month, with 80,000 before week's end all but assured.  For that matter, hitting 90,000 isn't out of the question at this point, since we've recently been clocking over 3000 posts a day on every recent weekday (and even managed it yesterday as well, despite it being a Saturday).

We've now hit 80,000 posts for the month of October, and seem very likely to hit 90,000 by month's end at this rate.  To reiterate, the previous record for a single month was only 66,370 in October 2016, so that record is being absolutely shattered.

Why are you people posting so much?  Tongue

Yeah, it's crazy how active the forum has been. I can't even begin to keep up with the poll/election board threads. We never hit 4,000 posts on any single day in 2016 or 2018, and we've done it twice so far this month, almost a 3rd as well.

I feel like fixing the forum's slowness / lag issues probably contributed at least a little bit on the margins, since on busy days it would constantly seize up for upwards of 5 minutes at a time. It dissuaded me from posting a number of times. I can't be the only one.

And we're now above 90,000 posts for the month of October, with another day and a half to go before the month is over.  Imagine how active it would be if the presidential race was actually competitive.

I feel if the election is even just a bit closer than expected, this might still get a record posts on a day here at this rate

Lots of activity today! Up to 2,207 posts right now and it is only 2:21pm. I can easily see 5,000 - 6,000 posts total by the 12:00am, so long as the forum is functioning.

For reference, there was only 2,572 posts on election day in 2016 (probably because it was crashing on and off).

We have now surpassed 5,000 posts today. Have we just broken the record for the most posts ever in a single day?

EDIT: We have surpassed 6,000 posts as well. Wow!

Nov. 3rd ended up at 6,500 posts, which I suppose must be a record. But sure enough Nov. 4th absolutely shattered it because it reached 7,600 posts.

The activity level in the last few days has been absurd (although expected).

The Presidential election thread is now the third largest of all time.

The Presidential election thread has now officially become the longest ever in the history of the forum. And it took less than three days!
There have been an average of ~3,500 posts a day so far in that thread. On 99% of days there are far fewer than 3,500 posts in the entire forum.

Hundreds of pages of posts about Georgia and Pennsylvania "dumping". We would have been all better off disconnecting our internet connections until the weekend.

We just had 23 days in a row in which more than 3000 posts were made every single day, including weekends.  But at present, it looks like that streak will most likely be coming to an end today, as I don't think we'll make 3000 posts today.  Keep in mind, that in many months, we have zero days with more than 3000 posts.  As recently as July of this year, we had a month with zero days with more than 3000 posts.

I think there is a bug in the Top 10 Posters (Past 30 days) leaderboard.

I have just opened some profiles and the numbers reported do not match with how many posts the users in question made in the last 30 days. What is happening?
