As we stand at the precipice of a new era for Atlasia, I am honored to address you today as the nominee for the esteemed position of Secretary of State. In this pivotal moment, where the winds of change sweep across our nation, it is imperative that we recognize the critical importance of stability in ensuring the prosperity and security of our beloved Atlasia, as well as around the world.

Stability is not merely a luxury, it is the bedrock upon which our society is built. It is the assurance of continuity, the promise of unwavering leadership, and the guarantee of protection for our nation's interests. As Secretary of State, I pledge to uphold these principles with steadfast dedication and unwavering commitment.

Protecting Atlasia's interests is a sacred trust that must be upheld at all costs. Whether it be safeguarding our borders, defending our sovereignty, or promoting economic prosperity, I will spare no effort in ensuring that Atlasia's interests are protected/advanced with unwavering resolve.

Thank you for this honor

What are the nominee's position on Russia, Israel-Palestine, and the PRC? Thank you.
Regarding Russia, Israel-Palestine, and the People's Republic of China (PRC), my position is one of pragmatic diplomacy. Each of these nations presents unique challenges and opportunities for Atlasia and the broader international community.

Russia: I support continued Atlasian support for Ukraine in their struggle against Russian aggression. Given our long history with our European friends, Atlasia must stand against any Russian actions that threaten regional stability or undermine democratic principles. Abandoning Ukraine would encourage Russia to expand elsewhere.

Middle East: In the case of Israel-Palestine, a lasting peace based on a two-state solution is essential for the security and prosperity of both peoples. As Secretary of State, I will work tirelessly to facilitate dialogue and negotiations between the parties, supporting efforts towards a just and comprehensive resolution to the conflict.

PRC: It's essential to maintain a balanced approach that recognizes both the challenges and opportunities presented by China. While competition is inevitable, cooperation on global issues such as climate change is essential. This doesn't mean we ignore Chinese aggression towards our friends, however. We must always stand firm in defense of human rights and the rule of law, especially when our allies are threatened.

Not a member of the Senate but I have two questions for the nominee.

Firstly, how closely have you been following GM updates?

Secondly, we have not had an SoS for over a month and a half because our President's erroneous judgement led to the previous holder doing exactly what those objecting to his nomination predicted, and resigning after less than a week on the job. Before that we had razze, who wasn't active or interested enough to actually do the job. In order for your tenure to be effective it's critical that you don't fall into either of those traps. What assurances can you give that this will be the case?

Advocating for multilateral cooperation among like-minded nations to address shared concerns in the region. This includes working closely with allies, partners, and regional organizations to foster dialogue and promote stability. I recognizing the crucial role of ASEAN in facilitating dialogue and building consensus among claimant states, so I would encourage ASEAN-led initiatives, such as the to manage tensions and prevent escalations.

1.) I've only recently rejoined the game, so I've only really been up to date on the last couple months or so.
2.) I am deeply committed to being actively engaged in the role of Secretary of State. This means being fully present, responsive, and proactive in addressing diplomatic challenges and advancing the interests of our nation on the global stage. Obviously IRL comes first, but I can only try my best.

Thank you for the response. How can we reckon with large polluters like China not doing their fair share in reducing climate damage in your view?

Also, [META] what duties/amount of activity is typically required in this role apart from responding to game engine events? This question is for anyone.

Aside from responding to the annual player created crisis (Lincoln Secession in 2021, Kansas in 2022, Southern Secession in 2023) and perhaps testifying before SCOA if they are relevant to a suit against the government, duties are dictated by the game engine.

Can the comrade, I mean nominee expand on their stated commitment to uphold the interests of the Atlasian state "at all costs?" As is well documented, both Atlasia and its predecessor entity the U.S. have frequently pursued their own imperialist interests at the expense of human rights abroad, whether in supporting the illegal Overthrow of Liliʻuokalani or the attempted annexation of Kalaallit Nunaat. How would the nominee decide between a course of action that would increase Atlasian political/economic/military power or one that would uphold the human rights, dignity and democratic self-determination of populations beyond the borders of Atlasia?

Also, you have said you wish to facilitate dialogue and negotiations between Palestinians and the settler-colonial apartheid State of Israel. However, the last attempt at Atlasian negotiations with the Palestinian Authority prompted the Zionist state to expel the Atlasian ambassador and close the Atlasian embassy. How would you navigate negotiations with all relevant parties when the Zionist regime actively undermines a peaceful and diplomatic two-state solution?

Dealing with large polluters like China regarding climate change requires diplomatic engagement, international cooperation, and support for sustainable development. Rather than blame, we should focus on constructive dialogue, setting clear targets, and providing assistance for transitioning to cleaner energy. Public awareness and advocacy are also key in holding governments accountable. Collaboration and shared responsibility are essential for tackling this global challenge effectively. Strengthening international agreements like the Paris Agreement and establishing ambitious emission reduction targets can create a framework for collective action and accountability.

I don't believe in coercion or imperialist adventures. The acquisition of Hawaii was an unfortunate conspiracy, based on white supremacy, for which we have apologized for. Similar actions will not happen in the future.

Given the situation's complexity and the need for a balanced approach, leveraging international organizations like the UN should offer a framework for addressing concerns and promoting dialogue. Additionally, exploring the potential consequences of Israel's actions in the West Bank, including diplomatic repercussions or sanctions, could encourage them to the negotiation table.
