I realize the case may be different elsewhere, but on this forum, have you noticed that the strongest O'Donnell supporters (supporters in the GOP primary, not the GE) are Democrats?

I'm an independent who began supporting O'Donnell two or three days ago.

What's hackish about wanting your party to win a Senate race by having the much weaker opponent? It's human nature.

It's like wanting the opposing baseball team to pick the retarded kid, or something.

It's dickish.

It's like wanting the opposing baseball team to pick the retarded kid, or something.

Let's dig a little deeper here. The problem with your crude analogy is, to be blunt, that the retarded kid doesn't choose to be retarded or cheer that he's lousy at baseball. I'm celebrating the Tea Party's victory because they oppose me and my political party in everything we believe in, and the Republicans have been thrilled to harness that power and use it against Obama, all the time claiming that this is the voice of America, the future of America, and the liberals better get out of the way. If that wild horse rears around and accidentally kicks the jockey in the head, no, I don't sympathize. You had one bad night, you are having a much better year than we are, you'll have to understand if we take our small victories where we come. Boo hoo, you're only going to win 8 Senate seats now. Smiley

The Republicans are reaping what they sow. A little more backbone in 2009 instead of pandering to the worst instincts of the mob would have gone a long way. Instead, "moderate" Chuck Grassley was yammering on about death panels. We had unprecedented obstruction of the Senate--yes, unprecedented--because that's what the Tea Party wants.

What's more, this isn't the first time this has happened. Geoff Fieger for governor of Michigan? How about Al Sharpton, Free Republic's favorite Democrat?

You know, Morgan, I would expect a libertarian to be more open to a real world application of rational selfishness.
