The death penalty is wrong. Period.  Especially since our judicial system allows people to be convicted even if the evidence is shaky.  Murder is cruel and unusual.  The state should not lower itself to the level of the murderer by killing him.  We have jails for a reason.

Calling an execution murder is like calling a fine theft.

No it isn't because you just consent to a fine, unlike thievery.   Not consenting lands you in prison, but they don't take your money.
