What people seem to forget is that Trump won the elections, despite many people voting Johnson, McMullin or writing in people or staying at home. I believe Trump will have increased it's base among conservatives, but might lose some independents or swing voters, especially if the Democrats nominate  a much more likeable candidate, which is harder to do than it may seems.
