This district went from Clinton 58% - Trump 38% to Biden 52% - Trump 47%. However, unlike Vicente Gonzalez in the neighboring 15th district (who almost got unseated, no doubt the biggest surprise of 2020 when it came to house results), he outperformed Biden heavily.

Let's say that Justice Democrat and progressive favorite Cisneros overcame the 3% lead Cuellar had over her in the primary, how would someone like her have performed here? Not only would she not have had the name recognition and incumbency factor, she would easily be tied to the squad and her views on energy & oil/other progressive views would not fit well in the Rio Grande.

It would've been close but Cisneros could've pulled off a narrow win. She would've been one of the most vulnerable Dems going into 2022, had she won.
