My computer speakers are down... I wonder whether people were using a tune to which the lyrics began
"Die Fahne hoch! Die Reihe fest erschlossen!"
(The [Nazi] flag raised high/ our ranks in tight formation!)
(the infamous Horst-Wessel Lied banned in all parts of Germany and Austria since 1945 as an expression of Nazism)
I'm surprised that the Klan never adopted that tune.
Torchlight parades? Hitler recognized that political rallies at night better impress tired, receptive crowds. Note well that the typical Klan rally is staged at night and has a "cross-lighting" ceremony.
