Yep, she knows what she's doing. Hawkish, but that's who she is and I'll take it over someone who has no plan at all.

The majority of this speech in a nutshell: "Hey! At least I'm not that crazy guy, Trump!"
Seriously though, still can't stand her and her center-right talking points. Worst nominees in a generation.

This nation is not going to elect a socialist.

Honestly, as much credibility as there is to the possibility of the republican party slowly going extinct due to not appealing to minorities enough and its most devoted parts being disproportionately older (A majority of young republicans are the type that supported Rubio or Kasich or Jebra (Several had Rand as their first choice, yes, but he dropped out after Iowa) in the primaries, meaning they tend to be more moderate (especially on social issues) and might leave the party under certain circumstances.), there is credibility to a theory that the Democratic Party is dying off as well. Given how well Sanders did despite the cards being brutally stacked against him, the party base is dramatically socializing itself. The problem with this is that it's clear that this Socialization cannot appeal to black voters. Say goodbye (eventually) to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida - but not necessarily to the republicans. Our next system of parties could be something like this:

"Bernie Sanders Party" - The modern-day democratic party, but now completely socialist and generally unable to reach 270 electoral votes due to lack of appeal to black voters.
"Reformed Libertarian Party" - Moderate Democrats and Moderate Republicans, frustrated with their now failing old parties, beef up the libertarian party and substantially moderate its platform.
"Ted Cruz Party" - Teabaggers extraordinare, generally unable to reach 270 electoral votes but remains a powerful presence in much of the south and Plains and parts of the midwest, occasionally earning a plurality in the HoR.

There is a selection bias there. There are so few young people who identify as Republican to begin with, so a disproportionate number of them are going to be extremely Establishmentarian because their goal is to get a Congressional internship or rise in the ranks of party politics. Or they're just people who've read too much political history and think the GOP is still the way it was in the 1950s.

Compare that to how easy it is to find young people who are "casual" Democrats who vote Democratic in presidential years and are indifferent to politics otherwise. You can find young "armchair conservatives" (go to a gun range in a suburb of Atlanta/Houston/Dallas/etc) but they are in many cases outright hostile to the Republican Party itself and want nothing to do with it.
