What is the likelihood of a party to right of FPÖ gaining traction during a protracted ÖVP-FPÖ government?

There is no room for a party to the right of the FPÖ. A party like this would likely be subject to a ban under the anti-Nazi law.

Besides, don't expect ÖVP-FPÖ to be unsuccessful - just because the previous coalition between 2000-2006 was. The new government might become popular (like the current state coalition in Upper Austria) and both parties might be relatively stable in the next elections, or only lose slightly.

I'm not saying it's going to be unpopular, I'm just wondering if, as is precedent in the Austrian far right, someone might launch their own movement looking to outflank the FPÖ.

Also will there be FPÖ voters disappointed with the protracted governments new economic policies?

So, here's the thing on reducing welfare payments to foreigners.

By creating a two tier welfare system you are effectively creating a situation where immigrants are far more desperate to find work, and, as a result, far more likely to accept appaling working conditions than "natives" - flat out rejecting welfare for newcomers would only exacerbate this.

Seems to me, this is a form of social dumping that is mainly going to benefit the patronat, at the expense of the rest of the country - and will push down salaries and working conditions even further.

So, expected for a right wing government.

You've summed up why I cannot stomach the RWPP. Its a self-fulfilling prophecy. You deny a minority public services, they form an identity based on the institutional discrimination, and then you wonder why they no longer identify with the "values" that you imposed on the national identity.

It makes the right-wing populists salivate though, because minority-interest parties are exactly the kind of diversion they need to convince the rest of the population to rally around them.

They are exacerbating this problem, because they need to stay relevant as a long-term political force.

Also, ÖVP+FPÖ plan to expand all-day care in schools.

What makes the OVP/FPO "rightwing" is they want to do very leftwing things like expanding day care?

Is this a serious question?

Tender is it true that if the Sudtiroleans get citizenship they would be the only Austrian citizenship allowed to have dual citizenship?
