Unsurprisingly, Obamacare is more successful in states that support it than states that don't.

Which only goes to show how ill-conceived it was as legislation and why "wonkish" centrist Democratic policymaking that tries to achieve social-democratic goals through the market instead of relying on old-fashioned public programs is a fraud that belongs in the dustbin of history.

Aspects of both work well, but most healthcare guys in academia (who effectively represent the Democratic party) agree that something like single-payer (at least how it is in U.S. discourse) is mostly optimal, but the political constraints necessitate stupid compromises. The constitutional option is probably going to need to come out for any progress to be made
