Well, it's not like Republicans care about moderates either, after cheering Begich, Hagan, Pryor, and Landrieu being booted out in 2014.

None of those are moderates, except maybe Pryor. Or do you consider Toomey, Johnson, Burr and Lee moderates as well?
👍 Just because a senator represents a swing state (or a state that frequently votes for the opposite party) does not make him/her a moderate.

And, on the other hand, I can think of a certain deeply Republican state that has two very moderate Republican Senators...

Eh. We sort of have the opposite problem. Massachusetts is certainly liberal, but it isn't as liberal as Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey would make you believe.
