Gorillaz - Hallelujah Money

Humanz is so good!

I dig it, but I don't love it. I find myself loving the songs, but it just doesn't feel like a Gorillaz album, you know? It feels more like the songs belong to the featured artists rather than to Gorillaz.

Charger is probably one of the best songs I've heard all year though.

I actually like it a lot more than Plastic Beach, which is my all time favorite. I love all the guest appearances too, which is what I thought was lacking on PB. Charger, Momentz, and We Got The Power are my favorites. When the record first came out, I had all three on repeat for days.

IAMX - Dead In This House

I love Momentz. The whole record has grown on me a lot lately, but I think its biggest kryptonite is the sheer amount of tracks. Like I know their records usually have a lot of tracks, but 26 is an awful lot. It's hard to listen to the whole thing in one sitting.

Whining about how girls don't like you and you smoke so much weed got old a very long time ago. Plus Brian Sella's vocals are literal nails on a chalkboard.

I mean, obviously I can't change your mind on his voice, but I find it strange that you think that they have a lot of songs about smoking weed. I can name maybe two(Skeleton from Talon of the Hawk, which isn't about anyone in the band and Historic Cemetery from Back on Top) and then others that reference drug use but that's obviously not the same.

Their whole "I'm awkward" schtick gets boring after a while. It's been run through the wringer in so many different incarnations that it's become as cliche as the "i hate my hometown" thing in pop-punk.

I don't mind the general subject matter, but the way that they specifically write about it is so trite and sleep-inducing.
