This is only the second time since the mid-1800s that The Tennessean has not endorsed the Democratic nominee (the other one was Romney in 2012).

Hillsboro (OH) Times-Gazette: http://timesgazette.com/opinion/11004/our-view-endorsements

And a couple of Clinton endorsements:

Reno Gazette-Journal: http://www.rgj.com/story/opinion/editorials/2016/10/27/our-view-clinton-president-united-states/92841532/ (Romney in 2012)

Trump gets another endorsement (it’s actually more of a Pence endorsement) from the Fort Wayne (IN) News-Sentinel: http://www.news-sentinel.com/opinion/Let-s-keep-Hillary-Clinton-out-of-the-White-House.  They endorsed Romney in 2012.  This moves Trump into fourth place ahead of Johnson.

Endorsing nobody:

Austin American-Statesman: http://www.news-sentinel.com/opinion/Let-s-keep-Hillary-Clinton-out-of-the-White-House. They also didn’t endorse in 2012.

Hudson (WI) Star-Observer: http://www.hudsonstarobserver.com/opinion/editorials/4145335-president-none-above.  This is the first time in over 50 years that they haven’t endorsed the Republican candidate.

New Braunfels (TX) Herald-Zeitung: http://www.mlive.com/opinion/index.ssf/2016/10/hillary_clinton_is_best_for_mi.html.  Wikipedia incorrectly lists this as a Clinton endorsement.  (If you’re wondering, “zeitung” is German for “newspaper”.)

The rest are for Clinton:

Buffalo News (Obama in 2012): http://buffalonews.com/2016/10/27/editorial-clintons-experience-trumps-faults-leave-voters-one-realistic-choice/

Flint (MI) Journal: http://www.mlive.com/opinion/index.ssf/2016/10/hillary_clinton_is_best_for_mi.html.  The same endorsement appeared in the Kalamazoo Gazette, Muskegon Chronicle, Grand Rapids Press, and Jackson Citizen Patriot, which have ownership in common.  The first three endorsed Obama in 2012, while the last two endorsed Romney.

Greenfield (MA) Recorder (Obama): http://www.recorder.com/editorial-clinton-endorsement-5684651.  This supersedes a “Not Trump” editorial from Oct. 10.  This is also true of their sister paper, the Northampton (MA) Daily Hampshire Gazette: http://www.gazettenet.com/Editorial-endorses-Hillary-Clinton-for-president-5667239

Philadelphia Daily News (Obama): http://www.philly.com/philly/opinion/20161028_We_endorse_Hillary_for_president.html.

Quincy (MA) Patriot Ledger: http://www.patriotledger.com/opinion/20161029/our-opinion-hillary-clinton-for-president

Daily papers (246) --
Clinton 185 (Obama 72, Romney 44, None 33, unknown 36)
Nobody 39 (Romney 24, Johnson 1, None 13, unknown 1)
Not Trump 8 (Obama 1, Romney 3, None 4)
Trump 7 (Romney 4, None 2, unknown 1)
Johnson 6 (Obama 2, Romney 3, None 1)
Not Clinton 1 (None 1)

Of the top 100 circulation papers in the country only 14 which endorsed in 2012 haven't yet endorsed this time.

10 endorsed Romney - not endorsed yet in 2016
New York Post
Daily News (Los Angeles, CA)
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
The Tampa Tribune
Investor's Business Daily (Los Angeles, CA)
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (Little Rock, AR)
The Press-Enterprise (Riverside, CA)
The Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville, FL)
The Post and Courier (Charleston, SC)
Telegram and Gazette (Worcester, MA)

4 endorsed Obama - not endorsed yet in 2016
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The Blade (Toledo, OH)
The News Journal (New Castle County, DE)
New Haven Register (New Haven, CT)

Bear in mind Romney only got 35 endorsements from the Top 100 in 2012 so 1/3 of those haven't been able to make up their minds. Obama got 41 and less than 10% still haven't endorsed.   So far the only Top 100 paper to go with Trump is the LV Review Journal

The penultimate financial paper of record (besides the WSJ) - Financial Times for Clinton:

FT endorsement: For all her weaknesses, Clinton is the best hope
She is manifestly more competent than Trump with his braggadocio and divisiveness

I can't conceive of any Obama 2012 paper endorsing Trump, but I think it's safe to say that both the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Toledo Blade are safe for Hillary. The biggest question to me is what the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review will do. As I mentioned in an earlier post, their founder was one of the Great antique Clinton conspiracy theory sugar daddies of the far-right throughout the nineties comma though he died 2 years ago. If you were still alive I'm sure he'd force and endorsement of trump seeing help other billionaire ideologues like Sheldon did so with their newspapers and he would take whatever hit necessary. With him gone however I don't know if you had a total board is willing to take such a controversial stand rather than stick with a much safer none of the above.

A couple of interesting ones:

In another historic first, Clinton gets endorsed by an Indian American paper (in spite of Trump's respect for "Hindu"):

And Trump gets another endorsement, this time from the Vilas County News Review - WI:

To no one's surprise, The Economist endorses Clinton:

http://www.economist.com/news/leaders/21709540-why-we-would-cast-our-hypothetical-vote-hillary-clinton-americas-best-hope

To a mild surprise, it also endorses the Dems for House and Senate control.

A couple of papers that endorsed Obama in 2012 endorse nobody this year; this has been a rare combination so far.

New Haven (CT) Register: http://www.nhregister.com/opinion/20161102/editorial-hillary-clinton-is-prepared-to-shatter-the-glass-ceiling-but-do-voters-want-her

And a couple of Clinton endorsements:

Barre Montpelier (VT) Times Argus: http://www.timesargus.com/article/20161103/OPINION01/161109916

Everett (WA) Herald (Obama in 2012): http://www.heraldnet.com/opinion/editorial-hillary-clinton-the-clear-choice-for-president/

Daily papers (303) --
Clinton 222 (Obama 85, Romney 45, None 45, unknown 47)
Nobody 57 (Obama 3, Romney 33, Johnson 1, None 17, unknown 3)
Not Trump 8 (Obama 1, Romney 3, None 4)
Trump 8 (Romney 5, None 2, unknown 1)
Johnson 6 (Obama 2, Romney 3, None 1)
McMullin 1 (None 1)
Not Clinton 1 (None 1)

Non-daily papers (6) --
Clinton 6 (Obama 3, None 3)
