I clock in as a "libertarian" even though I am not a libertarian, so the typology sucks in my opinion. And a lot of the questions were way over the top Manichean; in my world, what I see are a lot of shades of gray, along with the blacks and the whites.

I agree, the questions force you into a position where you might have a different one to the options.

  Solid Liberals
14% OF THE PUBLIC
What They Believe
Strongly pro-government and very liberal on a broad range of issues - I'm not pro-Government, more that I think it does have strengths in the delivery of services
Very supportive of regulation, environmental protection and government assistance to the poor - yup
One of the most secular groups; 59% say that religion is not that important to them - indeed
Supportive of the country's growing racial and ethnic diversity - That I do
Two-thirds disagree with the Tea Party - they disgust me

Who They Are
Highly politically engaged - well, I'm here aren't I?
75% are Democrats - well, I'd vote for them
Concentrated in the Northeast and West - eh...
57% are female - nup
Best educated of the groups: 49% hold at least a bachelor's degree and 27% have post-graduate experience - mmhmm
A third regularly listen to NPR, about two-in-ten regularly watch The Daily Show and read The New York Times - I do all of those things... :S
59% have a passport - yup
42% regularly buy organic foods - not so much 'organic' but I look to RSCPA approved animal products
21% are first or second generation Americans - Overall, no.
