Compare to what Romney said a few weeks ago:

Maybe after the election, when Romney concedes, he'll get up on stage and explain to us that this whole campaign was an elaborate prank staged by the Onion.

Unlike the RNC keynote speaker.

As far as this blatantly false welfare ad is concerned, it is not surprising that Romney feels entitled to his own facts.

Let's face it. Romney's campaign is, at this point, effectively, at the level of an ill-conceived plot twist from an early draft of some seminal but controversial work of queer sci-fi. It calls into question everything that we thought we knew about this fascinating country's general political assumptions, its culture, its priorities, about truth, about lies, about gender, about religion--about, dare I say, love. Nothing is what it was a week, a day, a moment ago. It is the tragedy that we think of when we think of history; for a chill wind is blowing at the mizzen, and nothing is the same, and we find no place for purchase, for seed or germination, and everything changes and transforms.

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to face this.
