It's more fun to imagine these as election maps than it ought to be.

The question is, "Would the Big East deserve an automatic BCS bid if it adds Air Force, Boise State, Central Florida, Houston, Navy and SMU?" I voted No; No has 52% of the vote. California is tied.

Another great one is this:

The question is whether Dallas or St. Louis has better baseball fans; even the suggestion that the two are comparable is ridiculous on its face, and St. Louis gets 75%.

Giants and 49ers

61-39 overall: most Giants state is New York at 72%, most 49ers state is Utah at 88%.

Both Alex Smith and Steve Young went to school in Utah, of course. My dad became a 49ers fan when he lived there, before Steve Young became the starting quarterback; apparently it was Niners country even back then.

Blue: 49ers win the Super Bowl
Green: 49ers lose in NFC Championship
Yellow: 49ers lose in divisional playoffs

Which team will win Super Bowl XLVII?

49ers 40% (60% in California)
Patriots 35% (78% in Massachusetts)
Ravens 16% (52% in Maryland)
Falcons 9% (57% in Georgia)

The patterns here are simple: Georgia likes the Falcons, Maryland likes the Ravens, New England likes the Patriots, Michigan likes Tom Brady, Washington doesn't like the 49ers.

That's not to say that reasonable people can't argue that the SEC is overrated; it is.

This one is fun:

How does Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick's strong backing of Manti Te'o affect your belief in Te'o's role in the hoax?

More inclined to believe Te'o was a victim: 31%
No more inclined to believe Te'o was a victim: 69%

No surprise where the support is strongest.

The border between the Giants and Bills is reminiscent of the 2010 gubernatorial election.

An NFL team in Utah isn't feasible. There's a reason the Utah Jazz don't play home games on Sundays.

It's in the best interests of the NFL not to have a team in Los Angeles. Back in the '80s and early '90s, it was common for baseball teams to threaten to move to Tampa Bay in order to get a stadium from the metropolitan area anxious to keep them; the Giants did it and the White Sox did it and the Indians in Major League did it. When baseball actually put a team in Tampa Bay, they lost that ability.

Just about every team in the NFL looking for a new stadium has threatened to move to Los Angeles, and it's paid off for many of them, as they've gotten new stadiums. If the Jaguars were to move to Los Angeles, would teams threaten to move to Jacksonville? Such a claim would bear somewhat less weight than Los Angeles. The league would be shooting itself in the foot by removing that outlet.

People in Buffalo care about the Bills. People in Toronto don't. It's very simple.

The problem is that American stadiums just aren't big enough for Canadian football.

Which team should be ranked No. 2 behind Florida State?

Choices are "Undefeated Ohio State" (53%) and "One-loss Auburn" (47%). No points for guessing which color is which.

The margins in Vermont and Delaware were very narrow and involved a very small sample.

why is the West pro-OH St?

Because it's not the South.
