The Democrats cause a large sweep on the Left Coast after a major hurricane strikes along the coasts of Washington and Oregon, and the Hurricane Constantine Stimulus Act passes the Senate 66-33. Senator Patty Murray was hurt severely in the hurricane, as she was attending a fundraiser for Representative-candidate Karen Porterfield. She resigned in order to heal, and Governor Inslee appointed Ron Sims to the Senate seat. Sims doesn't manage to be in Washington in time to vote on the bill.
