I am inclined to agree with Oakvale on this. At the time of declaring he was a registered Federalist, and is currently still one. There is no need for the *

While I am confident of victory against the witch hunt in my party, I would dispute the * affixed to my name on the ballot given that I would remain, constitutionally, a registered Federalist regardless of my actual membership of the Party proper and as such should appear as such on the ballot.

Are you saying a candidate's party affiliation on the ballot be different than the actual membership in the party?

The ballot reflects the most recent information if possible. If you change state two days before a vote the ballot should try to reflect that. If someone is no longer in a party the ballot should reflect that. If someone is expeled from a party, the party's name should not appear on the ballot.

He is still currently a registered Federalist (so requesting the * be removed is still using the most recent information), and even in the event the vote to expel passes, it would be too late to remove him as a Federalist candidate for the House.

This is not correct. Vern has 10 first prefs, all of which are valid.
You also have YT and I with one more first pref than we actually received.

When's the next federal election? Is it too late to move regions and vote in a new region?

For Federal Elections (House and Senate) there is a 7 day residency requirement, so it is already too late - the Election starts next Friday.

I'm not happy that Lincoln has adopted a parliamentary system. As an independent who will always remain so, it gives me zero chance at advancement. So I'm either going to move to the only region that doesn't have a stupid Parliament or deregister.

However, I disagree that a parliamentary system gives less chances of advancement. Independents have a hard time both in parliamentary and presidential systems.

It's not only that. I don't like Parliamentary systems, period - especially ones that have set the number of seat so high as to be unlikely to work at all.

Glad to see someone else speaking out about how terrible parliamentary systems are.
