22% undecided after Labor Day? It may be true given Perry's unpopularity, but I wouldn't put much stock in this poll.

39%-33% is a pretty weak charge.

22% undecided in Texas?  How about removing a 2?

22% undecided in Texas?  How about removing a 2?
The UT poll is an internet poll that is actually conducted by Yougov/Polimetrix.  UT devises the questions, then Polimetrix conducts the poll, and then UT does the analysis.

Polimetrix has a pool of persons who have indicated a willingness to be contacted for polling purposes, and for which Polimetrix has demographic information.  They then produce a sample using conventional means, and find the closest match in their pool to actually take the survey.

Discussion (mp3) about UT polling method

This basic starts from the premise that telephone polling no longer works, and how the internet polling will solve the problem.

UT probably gets to conduct polling at lower cost, and not only gets to study the polling data, but the efficacy of the polling methodology, and Yougov gets some benefit about academic research and credibility in their polling methodology.

In this particular poll the Libertarian candidates polled in the 5-8% range, which likely indicates a selection bias.  In the past the UT poll has asked some odd questions - sort of like they had grad students suggesting questions.
