He thought about running in 1980, 1984, and 2004 as well. He didn't make it Iowa in 1988, and dropped out after Iowa in 2008.

I am assuming that due to the leftward shift in Democratic Party as of 2019 Schultz can end like John Anderson, even worse than Perot.
