A year ago, if somebody would've told me this is where we'd be on the first day of convention, I'd have laughed at that person and said they were crazy... this is just sad.

This is way too light-hearted for a speech about an intense battle during a terrorist attack

Yeah, this entire segment is very strange.

The theme of tonight at the RNC is fear... this is disgusting. This is how people in a democracy vote in support of tyranny.

Yeah, because we SHOULDN'T be making a big deal about three people that had no legal right to be here KILLING Americans that belong here.

Right, because fear is the only way to fix that problem. Let's throw rational policies out the window and just scare people into voting for Trump.

Hopefully this convention helps Americans realize the stakes of this election. This party is unhinged.

And your party is about to nominate a criminal
No charges were ever given to her, unlike your nominee who is on trial for fraud.
Trump is not "on trial for fraud." It's a civil suit, not a criminal one.

All due respect, trials can happen in civil law. Not exclusive to criminal law

To be fair, I've never heard "on trial for" used in a civil suit setting.

I don't believe I've actually used this word yet during the 2016, but this is just fascism. Plain and simple.

It's scary. The crowd is scary. The words people are saying are scary.

All I've heard is basically a thin defense of why we should deliberately ignore the words of black people and, in fact, push back. What is this disgusting bullsh-t that America has become?

This is what's truly scary. It's not just that Trump is the nominee, but that such a huge faction of the party is so supportive of some truly awful policies.

Um... when did Obama and Clinton say amnesty and citizenship for all? Blatant lie.

If Trump actually gets a convention bounce from this, then I will be greatly disappointed in America.

I think he will. Fear drives voters.

Moderate republicans, how do you imagine someone like John Kasich or Jeb Bush actually appealing to all these lunatics? Honestly if you think the GOP will get less insane by 2020 I think you'll be dissapointed.

I'm not sure. But we have to keep fighting. It's why I ran for precinct delegate again this year... I can't fix the party from the outside, as much as I may be ashamed of the state of the party today.

I despise Cruz with a passion, but that was the best and most coherent speech of the convention so far. Smartest man in the GOP by a mile. Also, dude has balls.

I feel the same way.  I can't stand Cruz, but tonight, he was and alright guy.

You actually have to respect Ted Cruz for having the courage to go on primetime television at the Republican Convention - at the invitation of the Trump campaign - and give a huge "screw you" to Donald Trump. I never liked nor trusted this man (and still don't), but he either has strong principles or is very cunning.
