He's probably right for the Fed job. I found his Gubernatorial campaign a little silly.

Not calling you out specifically Maxwell, but this site tends to have an overwhelming bias against candidates who lose. I'm sure you have your reasons, but I'm not sure what was so poor about his campaign. He was only modestly successful in his goals of redefining the party, but any ounce of sanity is something to be proud of. I may have said it before, but the piece in The Economist really sold me on what he was doing. Really smart guy. I know that publication doesn't get a ton of respect here either, but I'll diverge from the majority.

that kid drowning ad was pretty rough. And I don't doubt him as a smart guy, truthfully he's a pretty ok Republican, but he was pretty awkward and never really made an impact. Maybe that's because of how overwhelming the Democrat cash advantage is in California and Jerry Brown's approvals, but there's a reason he made fairly little headway even in a year where Republicans made historic gains.
