Is this like one of those cases in the South decades ago where an all-white jury would acquit Klan members? Were the jury members all right wing people who hate the BLM and want to send a message to Washington?
I know Eastern Oregon is very Republican but my god, didn't these guys kill a deputy?

No. They did not kill a deputy. One of the shed-occupiers was killed in the final standoff with the authorities.
The fact that the only one hurt was one of the people on trial probably helped them with the sympathy factor, but the odds are that the deciding factor was just the rural Republicans on the jury supported them.
