Obviously this is very unfortunate for the Palin family.

Reaction seems to be all across the board.  Overwhelmingly supportive so far, but with fissures.  The next 48 hours will be more unpredictable than the past 72.

That would destroy McCain's campaign if she drops out. It shows either McCain didn't know, or knew, and than when the inevitable happened, he panicked.

That's the best insight I've seen so far.  Take a lesson from Eagleton.

I think this information ceased to be "deeply personal" the minute that Palin was offered the nomination and press awareness of her went up 100-fold. Fairly or not.

You're right.  But you can stop salivating.

I am not going to dig up your comments and others from the Edwards threads, where there were also real live people involved in news that had a political dimension as well.

Edwards the candidate cheated on his terminally ill wife.  Palin the candidate cheated… how?  Not even sure how one is relevant to the other.

Maybe if you mistakenly think I took some sick pleasure in how he hurt his family.

That would be true if Alan Keyes were the only real Evangelical Fundamentalist alive.

And remember what happened when he replaced someone else on the ballot against Barack Obama.

I know.  Point remains.

I beat Eraserhead by only twenty-nine seconds.

Yet the real point is that republicans always look like hypocrites when something like this happens because they do not practice what they preach.

I think I missed where Bristol is a self-identified Republican who preaches sexual abstinence.

Sarah Palin is a hypocrite because her daughter disobeyed her.  Um, OK.

I am just saying that her position is wrong and it is a bit ironic that it was her daughter that proved her wrong.

Her daughter proved premarital sex is good, not bad?

I have never seen anything like the last 10 days in American politics before.

That's the biggest and best understatement I've seen in quite a while.  Cheers.
