Your point?  In 1836 we weren't in an economic crisis and the magic of Jackson still hung upon Van Buren.

What's wrong with asking how the election would have turned out if Harrison had been on the ballot in every state, and White and Webster hadn't been at all?  Sure, I believe Van Buren would have won anyway, but there's no harm in having a discussion about this scenario.
