Bump, just in the hopes that someone says something on this. If no one does, I'll open a vote. Tongue

The goal of this was to simplify the process of delegating responsibility of the Intro thread and making sure there will always be someone there to update it. It's fallen into horrible disrepair. When I first came along trying to modify this as one of my legislative priorities before I was even a Senator for the first time, I took it upon myself to basically make sure I would be in charge of it, but the sad fact is that not every random person in the world is all that active.

In the end I think the RG having the role ensures that thread will always be updated, or that there would at least be someone to turn to to update it. I'm unsure of the proposal to merge the RG and SoFE roles (they are both annoying workloads and we kept the responsibilities separate for a reason) but this is far far better than the status quo, on an important resource we should let stay neglected.

Does this mean starting a new intro thread every time there's a new RG?

How do you see that?  I don't but maybe I am not reading it right.  If that is so, it would be stupid.

It would probably be required, to some degree. If someone new has responsibility over the Intro thread, they can't very well just edit the other poster's thread themselves without being given mod powers.

Then someone here come up with a way to fix the intro thread. Or we could just get rid of it, apparently, since no one either wants to fix it, or can find anyone active enough to keep fixing it.

Duh, I wasn't counting that abstention before for some reason. This bill is now failing. Senators have 24 hours to reconsider.
