I never read the Left Behind books, but based on the reviews I read that were written mostly to roast them: The main villain was the Secretary General of the UN, and a former Prime Minister of Romania. The Pope did join up in his new religion of the totalitarian state he established, but that's because that Pope was appointed after the Rapture, and the initial Pope was raptured.

It's doubtful Bushie will either, in spite of what he says his plans are.  Once he watches the Kiribati clock change at 4am, he'll already have started focusing on Easter.

Not to hate on Pacific Islanders, but by what metric is Kiribati "civilized?" It's a very poor, remote nation. If I wanted to exclude those people I would start with New Zealand. It's the easternmost developed nation. Or does "civilized" merely mean majority Christian? Will ODF be abstaining from celebrating the New Year with the Japanese because they are destined to spend eternity in an agonizing lake of fire?

Perhaps Bushie knows people who have been on 'missions' to (the already overwhelmingly Christian people of) Kiribati. Although I'm not sure if that would make a country more civilized by his definition or less.
