It's a cliche for me but obvious choice: Jawbreaker's 24 Hour Revenge Therapy.

Hilarious thing is he only did that one because he was confused and though they were Jawbox.

The Jesus Lizard: Goat for me. Although there are a lot of good ones in Steve's catalog. (And some atrocious ones, he tended to be up for anything.)

Rid of Me by PJ Harvey is pretty sick.

HM to Surfer Rosa, the Slint albums, and In Utero.

Surfer Rosa had such a tremendous impact on me as a kid. I didn't know music could be that weird while still being catchy as hell. Albini really maximized their oddest affects without sacrificing the quality of the music itself.

Although I like Nirvana and Pixies somewhat, I am really not into that kind of music, so I have to go with In Utero.

It's hard to answer. It depends on ours tastes, on how we like the bands. We can debate how important was the Steve Albini-produced album in comparison to other albums of the same music artist.

Surfer Rosa is a very important album of the Pixies.

In Utero was not the Nirvana's most commercial sucessful album. Nevermind holds the title. But In Utero was the most Nirvana album of Nirvana. Nevermind was the favorite of the big audience, but In Utero was the favorite album of the hard line Nirvana fans.

Rid of Me is a very good album, but it is very far away to be PJ Harvey's most important album. Its sound is much related to her early career. After 2004, PJ Harvey moved away from noisy distorted electric guitars.
