Adam Griffin, what will you do when you take over as the Labor and HHS Secretary for this region?

Sorry I'm late to the party (just now heard the confirmation hearing was open)!

Before we proceed any further, I must note that I was asked and agreed to serve as Labor Secretary alone, and not both Labor and HHS. I think there may have been some confusion due to the fact that one of my predecessors held both roles simultaneously.

At any rate, once we clear this up, I'll be happy to proceed to with the confirmation hearing!

I think they consolidated Department of Labor and HHS in Lincoln.

I’d like to mention that I did make an error in nominating Griff as HHS Secretary. I have updated my Executive Order and had asked the Speaker to update it, however this has not happened yet. However, both offices have been merged before, and if they are not currently legally merged, I will probably start drafting legislation that would do something similar to the Agricultural and Interior positions.

Please give your opinion of each of the following potential policies:

- Federal Right-To-Work Law
- Regional Right-To-Work Law
- Ban on the permanent replacement of striking workers
- Merger of the Department of Labor and the Department of Health and Human Services
- $15/hr Minimum Wage

If you take this office, how can you assure us that you would take this role as Lincoln Secretary of Labor seriously comsidering your previous statements on discord ridiculing the idea of "dumb regional cabinets." And what is your main motivation for accepting this job.

I oppose RTW laws in principle, whether they be federal or regional. The purpose of a union is to be a counterweight to businesses and corporations that already have outsized influence in discussions relating to hiring, compensation and workplace safety. Why on God's green earth we would feel to need to give them even more influence - through whatever series of machinations, direct or indirect - is beyond me.

If employers strike under the guise of a union recognized by the business/agency in question, then they absolutely should not face retaliation (i.e. losing their jobs) due to exercising one of the most basic tools of the collective bargaining arsenal.

In theory, I support the consolidation of cabinet positions (as I do think there are too many) but the consolidation should make sense. The very reason I did not accept both Labor & HHS positions is that I see a tenuous relationship at best between the two (and also did not want to take on too many responsibilities given my then-campaign for federal office). Perhaps the argument can be made, but I do not see it at first glance.

And considering that Atlasia had a minimum wage very close to $15 several years ago, I believe the premise is both economically-viable and arguably needed given such large losses in personal income between 2015-2018 due to constitutional and statute revisions.

If you take this office, how can you assure us that you would take this role as Lincoln Secretary of Labor seriously comsidering your previous statements on discord ridiculing the idea of "dumb regional cabinets." And what is your main motivation for accepting this job.

As I said above, excessive cabinet positions are in fact "dumb" and seek to undermine the basic bargain & premise of what we sought to do several years ago: reduce inactivity, consolidate offices and maximize competition to ensure office-holding means something. When everybody is handed a trophy, the value of said experience declines. Better for somebody like me with a proven track record of success to hold the position in the here and now!

In accordance with the Lincoln Cabinet Confirmation Hearings Reform Act of 2018, the time to question the nominee has concluded and there will now be 24 hours of debate.

A final vote has started. Assemblymen have 48 hours or until all have voted to vote.

I will say that this nominee is more liberal than I would prefer, but given the late date at which this position is being filled I am willing to show deference.
