Helloooo Atlasia,

Today, I am pleased to announce the foundation of the Atlasian Green Party. We fight for social ecology, liberation of all the people for the good of the human condition, and the work towards providing a sustainable future to live in. All of this is evident in our Ad-Hoc beliefs in the speech made by our first Interim Chairwoman, former Speaker of the Fremont Parliament KoopaDaQuick.

We formed this party to provide a grassroots-oriented, voter accountable alternative to the Labor Party. While there are many fine gents in that party, it is often too slow and very much a Byzantine machine to adequately address the issues Atlasians face today. We see such reasons be used to draw progressives, social democrats, and socialists to the ostensibly liberal Democratic Alliance, heralding themselves as the vanguard of reform of the game and an alternative. To many members that may be the case, but we will not let the message of change be used by the DA to co-opt real discontent among the Left.

We plan on making sure that there’s accountability, open democracy, and activity in the game. To do that, we will always allow for primaries and never have a clear cut slate with democratic acceptance after the fact. We also plan on using our record and campaigning to attract voters to view us as a good party to vote into office.

The future is one of hard work, that is undeniable. We will not have the numbers for a time of recruitment and campaigning to expand beyond the regional level as an alternative given the state of the game. However, we also see that there is real discontent with the game accepted by many in the established parties, and we’re here to pave the way for change. For one, both of the current leadership have experience in running functions of this party. We both were acclaimed politicians that ran on the side organizations providing key resources for Atlasians; a source of followed news and a key runner among others of a collective representation of working Atlasians. I don’t know about our president, but I’m excited in building my GOTV and recruitment bona fides in this fluid time.

The game needs change, as the views of many prominent Labourites, polling, and election results suggest. Labor is ultimately controlled by a tight knit, albeit fluid leadership that had repeatedly won 60+% of the vote for a year. There remains no left wing alternative to those who want something along the lines of either more radical, more transparent, and more accepting of radical new ideas that makes this game worth while. We hope to deliver lasting change by the wishes of our electorate and not what makes us electable to become a blob as some call it.

The party is open for cooperation on certain issues, electoral alliances, and agreements on a case-by-case basis. We hope to really leave our Mark with our members and Atlasians at-large. We are now open for questions and comments.

Damn the new party got a splinter party already?
I wouldn’t call us a splinter of DA, but we would love for many people unsure about Labor or the DA to consider checking us out. We are the natural home for the reformers and pioneers of new beginnings more on the left side of things.

How is this party different from Peace?
Judging by the members, they’re anti-labor
Well, we are planning to have a much more aggressive style of play than Labor, along with not being turned into an electoral blob without a clear identity at risk of serious defections like what happened recently like Labor, or become subservient like Peace. Further planks shall be made in our party, but I can let you know it will be more oriented towards actually having a platform and sticking with it early on in our existence, along with upholding our members to being active and talking about issues oft ignored such as stories by the GM and foreign policy.

We’re not anti-labor in the sense that we view Labor or even the DA as enemies, more of electoral rivals. We are open to coalitions and deals formed through negotiations for the best of all of Atlasia.

Nominations for leadership races are now open and will last 24 hours. We will not have a live, in-person convention due to the dangers of the recent pandemic.

I nominate myself for Vice Chair.

T’Chenka and myself are both successfully elected to party chair and vice chair respectively. Now for the tricky part, 48 hours to submit party bylaws and a party platform.

If the platform is rejected in any parts, we’ll definitely go back to the drawing board. Thanks Lakigigar for bringing these planks up.

I've gotta ask why you aren't doing each platform clause individually.
We agreed beforehand through talks that these clauses were wholly agreed upon except the ones done individually. It seems we are probably going to head back up to the drawing board.

Aye, anything else empowers the federalists and the establishment to water down house bills. There exists no real reason for the Senate other then false notions of “electability” which doesn’t ever apply in this game or to our party.

Congrats on us not only forming a coalition government in the House with the DA and Federalists, but us forming one in Alaska with Labor!
