Indeed, and that scumball prick John is lovingly at her bedside?  I want to f-cking puke.....!!!

I do too.  This is a sad, but not unexpected turn of events.

I just hope her last days are as pain-free as possible and when she does go, she goes in peace.

Elzabeth Edwards's cancer has spread to liver

– Mon Dec 6, 5:21 pm ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Elizabeth Edwards's cancer has spread to her liver and doctors have advised against further treatment, People magazine reported on Monday.

The estranged wife of two-time U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards is now resting at home with her family after being hospitalized briefly last week. The celebrity magazine reported doctors as saying that the breast cancer first diagnosed in 2004 "had metastasized to the liver."

"Elizabeth has been advised by her doctors that further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive. She is resting at home with family and friends," the Edwards family said in a statement to People magazine.

Edwards, 61, said in a Facebook posting on Monday; "I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces, my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope."

"These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that," the posting said.

Edwards's breast cancer spread to her bones in 2007. She said in an interview in June 2010, that it had also then reached her legs, spine and skull.

Elizabeth Edwards and her Democratic politician husband John announced in January that they had separated after 32 years of marriage. The split followed a scandal in which the former U.S. Senator had an affair and fathered a baby with a campaign aid during his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination.

Elizabeth Edwards has since written two best-selling books "Resilience" and "Saving Graces" about her long battle with cancer and the scandal surrounding her husband.

on a side note:

I noticed what seemed to be an odd dance around mentioning God in the statement above in red, so I googled "Elizabeth Edwards Jesus" and interestingly she is getting some bad comments on the internet for not mentioning a faith in Christ.  In fact, someone noted her past comment of:

"I have, I think, somewhat of an odd version of God. I do not have an intervening God. I don’t think I can pray to him — or her — to cure me of cancer. "

Oh, dear.  That's frightening and very sad.  That's sadder than the cancer itself.

It's truly sad.

She was a strong, intelligent woman - who deserved a much longer life, with a far better partner.

RIP Elizabeth.

I find the comments about HER view of faith to be completely out of line, it's frightening to YOU.

Yeah, I apologize for the comment.  I am concerned about the condition of her heart, but this was not the time nor the venue to voice such a concern.  May she rest in peace and may the family be comforted in this time of mourning.

Fortunately for Christine, Westboro Baptist Church is one-upping her by announcing they will picket Elizabeth Edwards' funeral.
