I wonder if Don Blankenship is related to Greely Blankenship, executed by the state of West Virginia in 1935 for the crime of murder.
Well, Greely was hung in Mingo county which is where Big Don grew up (though he was born in KY). Don's mom was actually part of the McCoy family (of Hatfield-McCoy fame) and his parents divorced shortly after he was born (what with he being Damien and all). Why Mom and Don ended up in Mingo isn't told except that she bought a gas station/convenience store with the divorce money. Obviously, Big Don grew up in a culture where sticking a knife in the back of Cocaine Mitch is all in a days work.
