Ever since Rasmussen showed Martin looking surprisingly strong after the primary, this has looked like a potential sleeper race. There might be some anti-Republican backlash in Georgia over the gas prices there, too; Perdue has gotten himself into a lot of trouble by vacationing while parts of the state are enduring chronic gasoline shortages, and that might hurt Chambliss by association.
