Johnson's percentage in SD (5.63%) is comparable to his share in the four neighboring states to the N, S, and W, which ranged from 4.61% to 6.22%.
A SD Johnson voter lives far from an urban area, and was unfazed by BLM and anti-Trump protests taking place in big cities like Charlotte, NC. (S)he is independent in her/his thinking and voted her/his conscience, honestly believing (s)he could make a difference. And (s)he did.
