Liberals, would you ever date a conservative?

I'm a pretty opinionated guy who tries to avoid heated debate with close friends and relatives, so I can't imagine dating someone on the opposite end of the spectrum.  Just being honest.

Girls lose points in my book when I find out they're conservative or religious. I might consider dating one with the intention of changing their beliefs but honestly I'd rather date someone who has similar values from the start.

I never have, even back when I was a sort of 'Republican'.  And now I'm free from the crazy notion of dating anyone.

And as far as just dating someone, I can't imagine anyone would seriously base question of whom to date on something as trivial as political ideology.

Hipsters and neoyuppies, you never even find conservatives among these groups so it has never really been a problem. Religion could also be a hang up for me but it hasn't yet been much of a problem.

Hey there, let me talk about the youth in this great nation we all cherish. Anyone can stick it in a Conservative. I might have. I don't know. That's hooking up. When it comes to dating, Grumps hear me out, conversationsare involved. Weird stuff like that. Sometimes the penis takes a backseat. No, not the backseat of a car. It is, for many of us, hard to tolerate dating someone we can't stand.

I live in a community with many young artists and musicians. People I'm around are inherently political and liberal at that but I wouldn't be as lucky in Texas for example.

Angus, you and Grumps are totally missing my point. I don't want to jump to conclusions and attribute it to a generational gap but this thread isn't about being turned on by or even having sex with a conservative. This is about dating, which I typically understand to be a relationship built on respect. I'm very green, am not religious, have a gay best friend, and all around liberal values. I don't expect to find anything I'm looking for when it comes to dating in a conservative. Am I making sense here?

Sure you are, Nappy.   It is a generational gap. We just grew up in a different time and I don't know about angus but I never gave a rats ass about a girl's politics back when Mr. Happy got hard when the wind blew
