I don't think the amendment is relevant enough to the bill and is something that should be its own bill.

As far as making Aug. 29 a holiday for Katrina, I think this is something that would be appropriate for the New Orleans area (I wish it had been one last year as there are several things I would have liked to have attended and couldn't because of work) but I don't think it should be a National Holiday.

If the amendment passes I will withdraw the bill.  This is ridiculous and an unprofessional practice

While your position is obvious, you still need to vote on the amendment.
