With Flo's map, why not just leave the 12 countries and French Guiana as separate seats? A solid 13 isn't a bad idea at all.

Do we have to do South America? I'd really rather not.

I'm in favor of it, simply because it'd be far more interesting than the following.

If we're going to go with South America, I'll take the Amazon-based seat...

Wouldn't it be a better idea to have Hash's constituency map, so we can have seats for all twenty members of the first parliament? Or do you want some pure party-list seats...

Here are some provisional ideas for a ministry, loosely based on the Peruvian government.

  • Prime Minister
  • Minister for Foreign Relations and Defence
  • Minister for Agriculture, Labor, and Employment
  • Minister for Economy and Finance
  • Minister for Commerce and Culture
  • Minister for Transportation, Communication, and Housing
  • Minister for Interior and Justice
  • Minister for Energy and Environment
  • Minister for Health and Education

One the opposition benches, you'd obviously have a Leader of the Opposition and a number of shadow ministers. Thoughts, ideas, comments?

I'm open to it, but those positions seem way too Atlasian... if that makes sense. I remember there was even a proposal to rename the SoIA, SoEA, and AG back in the day to those positions.

I think TNF's idea so far is the best because I think it makes more sense in a South American context. It also only has 8 ministers, so you'd see some members of the government left out in a majority situation. Even more interesting, in a weak minority situation, you could have some members pulling double duty. If we want, I think we could find a way to pull it down to 7 ministers like oakvale's proposal.

An easy way to keep 20 members is to make the Speaker a non-voting member of parliament except in case of ties, sort of like in the UK and Australia. So you'd effectively only have 19 members.

I agree totally about Shadow ministers- seems like it'd be far better not to have them at all.

I think we should just permanently do the method described in Section 4. We can't support 10 FPTP constituencies with the sort of population we have and want in this game, I think.
