It does make sense.  If the GOP is going to move far right of the American people, why not have the Democrats move to the far left?

That way the American people will have either decide between two extremes or break the apathy and end the two party system.

Sure, but hopefully for a while they'll pick the left extreme first Cool

Another problem I have with the article is that it doesn't mention the success of the Tea Party. Both parties are going to the extreme and the right is being ignored. It was well written though.

I don't see an equivalence between what the Tea Party is and what the author is talking about.

Because the Democrats are pretty much useless in their Moderate Heroism (at best) when you factor in how the GOP/Tea Party (same thing, despite the difference in brand names) almost always get their way (the public will be damned)?

I don't know it it's that black and white, but like most articles read in media, the good news for those on the right of the spectrum is conveniently left out or "forgotten." Neither side of this is really moderate.

Indeed.  Few people with a real life to live splits their economic views from their social views.  Only teenagers have the time to question such things.
