WA Dems are requiring a $1 million "buy-in" paid to the party from any gubernatorial candidate who wants to be endorsed or advertised by the party.

Washington State's new carbon 'cap and invest' law is now facing the ballot box this November thanks to disgruntled motorists and libertarians.  What are its prospects of survival?

Probably pretty good. I'm more interested in the CGT reversal vote myself.

I agree. The long-term care tax is definitely going to lose, the cap-and-trade system is more likely than not going to be repealed, and the capital gains tax is a toss-up which I'd handicap slightly more likely than not to be kept.

Long-term care tax might survive if enough people have forgotten what a debacle it is.

Washington voters like to vote for things that sound good.  "Long-term care" sounds good.  The fact that the actual implementation is one of the worst things ever concocted doesn't really matter.
