* His election win
* "Fake news"
* Yachts
* Cocktail Parties
* President Obama

To Boy Scouts

Not to mention he had them boo both Clinton and Obama.

Reminds me of Hitler youth.

The Boy Sprouts have always reminded me of the Hitler Youth, even when I briefly was one.

/snark

Snark aside, Trump is so terrible that individual displays of wretchedness fall into the giant morass of greater awfulness and get lost. From any other president, a display like it sounds this one was would have damaged them and been a weapon wielded against them for the rest of their lives. For Trump, it's just another day.

Never forget, the GOP gave us this. Trump will eventually be gone, and we should all do our utmost to make sure that the GOP ends up on history's garbage heap with him.

get a grip on reality. disgusting and false comparison.

Yeah, it's really not fair to compare the Hitlerjugend to the sexist theocrats running the Boy Sprouts.

I was in the Boy Scouts during the late 1990s (1997-1999) in a rural, conservative part of NJ. I learned about knot-tying, and all the typical Boy Scout stuff. Pine Box Derbies and things like that. I don't ever remember hearing politics come up from the parents of the group, and this was during the height of the Monica affair.

Perhaps that might have had something to do with the fact that any parents who wanted their female or atheist/agnostic children to learn similar skills were absent.

Please stop comparing Boy Scouts to Nazis. That's pretty disgusting.

Given your avatar, I believe the correct term for the behavior of maligning whole groups of people with vile epithets is, presidential.

(I will considering taking Republican comments on standards of behavior seriously after they denounce and impeach Trump and not one moment sooner. Until then, roflmao!)

1. The users of this forum have no control over whether Trump is impeached.
2. While Trump should not be talking to scouts about #fakenews, "I won!!!", and "Obama is bad!!!!". comparing it with Hitler, who literally persuaded people to want to kill "improper" individuals, is supremely overblown.

Users of this forum do have control over their avatars. If someone wishes to change their blue avatar to something else and still support some Republican positions, I can understand that. Not agree, but understand. But to my mind someone openly proclaiming their membership in the Republican Party bears the same relationship to Trump that a Nazi Party member wearing the swastika did to Hitler. The Republicans chose Trump to lead them - they do not get to pretend he's not a terrible human being and worse president whenever it is convenient for them, or whenever his banal horrors make them uncomfortable.

As for the comparison to Hitler, I find your choice of words interesting. While Trump is certainly not a 1:1 American mirror of Hitler, he is marching down the "bearing a cross and wrapped in a flag" path that was predicted for American fascism. And when it comes to "literally persuaded people to want to kill "improper" individuals", I give you the words of President Trump, for which he has never to the best of my knowledge repented nor apologized:

I can understand why his supporters don't want to admit he said this, but say it he did. Hiding from how monstrous and evil Trump is or wants to be is not something I will give anyone who identifies with the Republican Party a free pass on.

^ Trump was likely talking about ISIS or Al-Qaeda there. Not saying I agree with his remarks, but it's not comparable to Hitler, who targeted the old, the very young, the sick, the disabled, and the jews, none of which were terrorists.

He says, repeatedly that he wants to kill their families. Unless you somehow think women and children deserve to be killed for who who they were married to, or who their parents were, or that parents should be killed for the actions of their children, he is indeed advocating targeting the old and the very young. He talks about Muslims much like Hitler spoke of Jews. He also mocks the disabled, and is doing his damnedest to talk proper medical care away from the sick.

While, again, I do not think he is marching in lockstep with Hitler, remember too that it took Hitler and the Nazis years to go from racism to ethnic cleansing to mass extermination. We've only had six months of Trump. (And will hopefully have given him the boot soon enough.)

Trump really isn't any worse at killing people than Obama or Bush.
