Official Atlasia Supreme Court Release
Nyman, DC

People of the Republic of Atlasia v. Ebowed and others

The Supreme Court of Atlasia has discussed this matter and designated Associate Justice TJ to preside over the trial of Ebowed and Turkisblau, who stand accused of Acts of Treason by the Attorney General.

The Court reminds the defendants that they have the right to legal counsel as guaranteed in Art. III, §2 of the Constitution. If they wish to waive this right they should inform the Court of this.

These proceedings shall be governed according to  Art. III, §2 the Constitution of Atlasia, in conjunction with the Re-Consolidated Criminal Justice Act (2013).

The details of the trial will be announced as soon as the Attorney General and the defendants have been informed of the proceedings.

The issue of someone deregistering in the middle of a trial is a tricky one, but the assumption I've been working on since Vega deregistered in the middle of that kerfuffle a few months back is that when you "cease to exist" in Atlasian terms you're effectively in stasis, so if Turk returned the statute of limitations would not necessarily apply. It's a bit of a confusing situation.
