Yes he should have.  It was a very close race and the most important thing is that we send the person that the people elected to Washington.  That said odds are like most Republicans he made dumb comments about Sore Loserman etc which would make him a hypocrite.  But since he is a Republican he is already a hypocrite so why not challenge it?

On election night I thought he should have. He would have lost it and sealed his presidential ambitions once and for all. But then again, the campaign alone probably did that even if he had won! This way, the Democrats know they're going to be the majority party and get to work much sooner, so that's good too. Who knows if Rumsfeld and Bolton would be out now otherwise?

No and No. It would have made him look like an infantile crybaby, especially since there was little chance of him pulling it out.

No, because of no.

Had this been closer, had there been uncounted votes in large enough numbers to swing this, I would say yes.

If we find out that there are 15,000 legitimate absentee ballots out there, I'll change my opinion.

No/No.  If Gore was a "Sore Loserman" for wanting a recount in a state he lost by around 500 votes out of over 6 million, I can scarcely imagine what Allen would be called if he wanted a recount in a race he lost by over 7000 votes out of only 2.5 million.  Recounts just don't overturn margins that large.

Agreed, the largest I have seen a recount turn over an election was here in Washington (Rossi going from a couple hundred lead to Gregoire with a couple hundred lead), I dont think this margin could have turned over
