I disapprove of Sessions on numerous counts, but this is a good move.  Credit where credit is due.

Individual rights, not collective rights.

While I applaud this move, I do feel it needs reminding that this same administration has generally shown nothing but contempt for the LGBTQ community.  One good instance does not make up for several of the opposite.

Individual rights, not collective rights.

That's an expression of libertarianism rather than egalitarianism; individual liberty over class equality.

Are you worried if LGBT folk are getting "special rights"? This kind of hate crime can work the other way too. For example of someone who is transgender deliberately murders someone who is cisgender because they are cisgender.

I would hope such a case, which I pray never occurs, is prosecuted as aggressively and thoroughly as the case referenced in this article

Exactly.

Hopefully this will be a step in eliminating the trans-panic defense.

Any other Attorney General would have done  the same, especially a Democrat.

*Sensible moderate voice* Gotta give credit to Sessions for not personally funding the defense fund for the murderer.  Continues to defy expectations.

Yeah, let's instead say "F*** you" to everything and resist, resist, resist.

I was about to say kudos, but these posts are spot on and, depressingly, brought me back to earth.

Have to agree.  Great start, Jeff.  Now let's roll back these mandatory minimums, revoke the silly locker/bathroom order, and let the states lead on pot.  Bonus: Support redistricting reform and voter suppression suits

I don't think Republicans should get credit for fulfilling the base requirements for being a good person, let alone a good AG.
