Lynn Swann was the party’s gubernatorial nominee in PA in 2006, but he ended up losing in a landslide (he made even Doug Mastriano’s pathetic performance look good).

2006 was good for Democrats' overall, but especially so in the gubernatorial races...no Democratic governor even came particularly close to losing.
