MSNBC and CNN also both beat Fox News into third place among the 25-54 year old demographic. Is being shackled to Trump killing Fox?

This is even more impressive since conservatives hate CNN and herd into Fox.

I'm actually extremely impressed, I still get most of my news through BBC though.

I think MSNBC has successfully transformed into the anti-Trump channel, rather than merely a liberal channel, by giving significant airtime to NeverTrumper Republicans (Scarborough, Frum, Sykes).
CNN has failed to do that because for some reason they feel obliged to have Trump hacks in every one of their panels, and predictably most of them are disruptive morons.

MSNBC dethroning Faux "News" from their #1 perch is a good thing to hear about.

Not to mention half their "analysis" articles are nothing but right wing opinion pieces.

Kudos to MSNBC for unseating Fox, and giving that blow to their ego.

I wonder if being in the opposition to the sitting president helps MSNBC and CNN much? I would bet it is partly the reason, and also partially why Fox did so well during Obama.

Good. CNN is literal trash and FOX News is obviously state-run propaganda filth.

MSNBC is the best channel on tv. No other network would hire brilliant minds like Joy Reid or Rachel Meddow to bring in-depth political analysis and breaking news coverage.

Sometimes I'm convinced all my Grandparents do is get up, make coffee, watch fox news, make steak and potatoes, watch fox news, sleep, repeat.

It's really sort of sad, and I only say that because you can tell how evidently frustrated (and resultingly angry) they are with how the world is changing, - they just don't get it, and maybe we can't expect them to.

My opinion of MSNBC has definitely gone up over the past year or so. They ditched shows like Ed Schultz and Al Sharpton and have tended towards longer-term, more in-depth coverage of a slate of key issues, rather than calling everything "Breaking News" and over-sensationalizing it in the way CNN does.

Fox News, meanwhile, seems to serve no purpose beyond lobbing spitballs at the "mainstream media" without actually conveying any information and without recognizing the fact that they are (or at least were) a major component of the mainstream media.

He has the best show on there. I always make sure to catch the A block.

Sharpton's show is still on MSNBC.

Huh. It looks like they moved it to Sundays at 8 am. Yeah, I don't watch cable news that early.

Ed Schultz was the best show on MSNBC, with Rachel Maddow being a close second.
