I think Republicans will go something along this route -

The map probably does have dummymander potential later in the decade with SC-1, SC-2, and maybe even SC-4 eventually flipping, but that'd all be like 2026 or later at best.

I got SC-1 to Trump+10 and SC-2 is Trump+13 (2020 numbers).

Does anyone else find South Carolina incredibly annoying to draw?  Pretty much nothing outside of Greenville gets anything resembling a COI, everything ends up a mishmash of population.

SCOTUS will absolutely 100% squash this, but if this were to happen...

Quote
“The Court finds that race was the predominant factor motivating the General Assembly’s adoption of Congressional District No. 1,” the judges wrote.

They cited how the post-2020 census district lines resulted in moving more than 30,000 Black Charleston County residents out of a district that had historically been a Charleston-anchored seat.

30,000 blacks in Charleston County moved from SC-6 to SC-1 makes SC-1 almost a 50/50 district with 2020 pres numbers.  I'm assuming touching any other areas of the map will be a no-go.

Alito was FERVENTLY against the plaintiffs, to the point that one would think he's a defendant in the case.  I mean, holy crap, the anger in his voice could be heard sometimes.

Gorsuch also seems like a big doubter and most likely will be against the plaintiffs.

Roberts and Barret didn't really say enough to judge which way they go.

I kinda got the inclination that Thomas was more against than for the plaintiffs, but don't really know.  His question about not using the 14th amendment in this way for any other case indicates he's not a fan to me.
