Don't know if this has been discussed before, but  he seems comfortable running as a Dem for President, how about for Senate as well?

Hopefully not, & Peter Welch replaces him.

He's not a Democrat, so no.

Yeah, Feinstein, Brown,  George Miller, Sam Farr etc.  They were office holders when I was a kid and they still in office, though in some cases new offices.

I doubt it. He'll either retire, or keep running as an independent.

Miller has retired from public office.

Yes, but he held his seat for 40 years. That's long enough..

Does the LBJ law apply while someone is holding the Oval Office?

If Hilary is prez, he will retire and Peter Welch will run for seat.

He is Howard Dean like on guns giving immunity to gun sports owners, just like Harry Reid.

If he runs again, I doubt it.  His main reason for running as a Democrat now is better ballot access.  That isn't really a problem for him when running for senate

No.  The only reason he's running as a Democrat now is because he stands a better chance of getting elected by running as a major party candidate.  Just like his fellow socialist Upton Sinclair.
