As a lifelong Bluenote fan, seeing the Blues visit the White House to celebrate their Stanley Cup victory under Criminal-in-Chief Trump is just totally disgusting and distressing to see. #STLBlues #LGB

Sportsnet fires longtime Hockey Night In Canada host Don Cherry, a man known for his stylish suits and his racist commentary (especially toward French Canadians and those from the Middle East).

CBC:
Quote
Brash, outspoken, opinionated — longtime hockey broadcaster Don Cherry was never afraid to ruffle feathers during his "Coach's Corner" segment on "Hockey Night in Canada."

His latest outburst cost him his job.

In a two-paragraph statement Monday afternoon, Sportsnet confirmed that it was cutting ties with Cherry.

"Sports brings people together — it unites us, not divides us. Following further discussions with Don Cherry after Saturday night's broadcast, it has been decided it is the right time for him to immediately step down," said Sportsnet president Bart Yabsley. "During the broadcast, he made divisive remarks that do not represent our values or what we stand for.

ROAR BACON 2.0! Blues come back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 over the Blackhawks. Justin Faulk won it.

The Blues v. Ducks game has been postponed until further notice due to Blues D Jay Bouwmeester's collapse. The score was 1-1 at the time of his collapse. #PrayForBouwmeester

The NHL is floating a plan that could see games at 4 arenas (one per division) if and when the season resumes.

The AHL has cancelled the remainder of its season and the postseason, and as a result, there will be no Calder Cup for the first time in its history. The AHL is the top level of minor league hockey.

NHL.com:

Quote
The American Hockey League, the top development league for the NHL, canceled the remainder of its regular season and the Calder Cup Playoffs on Monday.

The AHL had announced March 12 a suspension of its season due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus, the same day the NHL paused its season for the same reason.

[...]

It will be the first time since the AHL was formed in 1936-37 that the Calder Cup will not be awarded.

The NHL has released its Return To Play plan to finish the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

Key details:
- The regular season has concluded.
- A 24-team playoff (12 per conference, sorted by points percentage as of 03.12.2020) will determine who will win hoist the Cup beginning at a date to be announced.
- The top 4 in each conference will play round-robin games to determine seeding, played by regular season OT/SO rules.
- There will be two hub cities that have yet to be announced.
- Teams are restricted to 50 personnel.
- The NHL Draft will be held after the season has concluded.
- The other 7 teams (plus the 8 eliminated teams from the qualifying round) will take part in the NHL Draft lottery, held on June 26th.
- No training camps prior to July 1st (Phase 3).
- The following cities are under consideration as hub cities: Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Pittsbugh, PA; Edmonton, AB; Toronto, ON; and Vancouver, BC.
- The first two rounds of the 16-team (traditional postseason) could be either best of 5 or best of 7.
- The Conference Finals and Stanley Cup will stay best of 7.
- The Qualifying round (seeds 5-12) will be best of 5 under postseason OT rules.

So angry over the Blues collapsing, especially with tonight's game in which they came back to force OT... only to lose 4-3 in OT. We have NOT had a win since entering the bubble.

They've squeaked out 2 wins since, evening the series. I'd personally prefer to see the Blues advance over Vancouver, so here's hoping.

Game 5 - Wed
Game 6 -  Fri
Game 7 - Sun (if necessary)

Hopefully my Blues can win the Cup again. But first, they gotta get past Vancouver.

My St. Louis Blues went out of the playoffs. The Cup defense run ended for us.

4 teams are left standing for the quest to lift the Stanley Cup.

Dallas-Vegas in the Western Conference Finals and Tampa Bay-New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference Finals.

From here on out, all the action will be Edmonton, Alberta.

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning for winning the Stanley Cup. Seeing ex-Blue Pat Maroon winning another Cup is a delightful thing.
