Qatar is already eliminated. What a pathetic host team.

Not even a single point for Qatar. At least the other host country to not make it out of group stage, South Africa in 2010, managed to defeat France.

The US defeats Iran and qualifies for the next round.

The middle east didn't get much of a home turf advantage. While they didn't bomb as hard as 0 point Qatar, both Saudi Arabia and Iran didn't make it out of group stage either.

Tweet of a Brazilian comedian:

"Hey, Wales!
Show your independence certificate otherwise we will send the squad of Sergipe in the next World Cup"

Sergipe is the smallest Brazilian state in land area

At least Wales has a government, unlike England.

Yeah, Germany is out despite winning 4:2 in the end because Spain lost against Japan. However, advancing to the next round was not earned, even the commentators here agree.

I'm rooting for the US now, though I'm not that optimistic about the next round here. Let's see.

Spain running up the score against Costa Rica broke the tie for them.

Since the World Cup has 32 national teams, there is a curse for the national teams which defeated Brazil

France 1998: eliminated in the 1st round in 2002
France 2006: eliminated in the 1st round in 2010
Germany 2014: eliminated in the 1st round in 2018
Belgium 2018: eliminated in the 1st round in 2022

Only Netherlands 2010 escaped this curse.

Cameroon decided to optimize it by simultaneously defeating Brazil and being eliminated.

Why are Americans like this?

"Sure Argentina beat the team that beat us, but why aren't their fraction of a percent of their people who are black more represented on their team" is some really low energy sh**t.

Maybe if they had taken the top players from Wales, Scotland, and well forget about Northern Ireland, they're probably a joke, and put them on a team they could have done better.
